European English section

The European Section is for intermediate English language learners who wish to improve their level of English but are not ready for the more rigorous in-depth level of study of English Literature and History-Geography within the International Section.

English lessons are conducted by qualified bilingual French and native teachers. These are reinforced by lessons of History-Geography in English, following the French National Programme which culminate in an oral exam for the Baccalaureate in Year 13/Grade 12 (Terminale).

All European Section students also take complementary additional English language qualifications to independently certify their level of English and prepare them for the final Baccalaureate examinations. These tests include the Big Challenge competition for the youngest students, TOEIC Bridge exam for students in Year 10 / 9th Grade, and Cambridge Assessment International Education IGCSE English as a Second Language exams in Year 11 / 10th Grade and Year 12 / 11th Grade. Final year students also sit the TOEIC exam and can also opt to sit the TOEFL exam.

Outside the classroom, there are a wide range of international trips, exchanges and Model European Parliament opportunities for students in the European Section.
